The Royal Academy of Dance is Headquartered in London, England. The Organization has Teachers worldwide who are Certified and Registered to each the Syllabi based on the French, English, Russian and Italian Methodologies of Classical Technique. Comprehensive training and review in all Levels from Pre-Primary through Grade 8 Award and Intermediate Foundation through Solo Seal ensures that standards are maximized.
Teachers and students are monitored through yearly Examinations provided by the Academy. Students are taught a progression of work that grows in complexity and assists in the development of the Dancer. Examinations involve not only a proficiency in Classical Technique, today's dancer should be well rounded and aware of the History and Tradition of Dance. Students must be able to present Character (Ethnic) Combinations and Dances, which are mainstays of the great Classical Ballets, where Russian, Polish and Hungarian Dances are Highlights, and must learn Free Movement Exercises based on Modern Technique. Examinations are not for everyone and are voluntary, but encouraged for serious minded students.
Tecumseh Dance Workshop has been participating in RAD examinations for 18 years in which students have excelled. Their examiners have been from Italy, United Kingdom, South Africa, China and Canada.
